Problem Solving Practise II

Problem 1:
Ms. Johnson fills her car with gas every sixth day. Mr. Martinez fills his car with gas every eight day. They both filled their gas tanks today. How many days will it be until they next fill their cars on the same day ?

Answer: 24 days

Problem 2:
A radio station gave free t-shirt to listeners during a three day promotion. The disk jockey gave away half of the shirt plus one during the first day, half of the remaining shirts plus one during the third day. At the end of the third day there was one shirt remaining. How many shirts were there at beginning of the promotion ?

Answer: 22 shirts
